This station, originally built by the Reading Railroad in 1932 replaced a station built by the North Pennsylvania Railroad in 1872. The station was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. In 2016, SEPTA completed an exterior restoration of the building which installed a new roof and repaired the masonry. Renamed as Jenkintown–Wyncote station, it is the sixth-busiest station in the Regional Rail system, and the busiest outside Center City. The meticulously restored depot has served a succession of restaurants over the years, with ample room reserved inside for the ticket counter and lobby, replete with historical photos and facts about the station and township. The station is not wheelchair accessible, however, and consequently, SEPTA has plans to make a wheelchair accessible station in the near future which will include a pedestrian bridge and elevators adjacent to the 1932 built depot.
