Ann Arbor carferry No.7 underwent a major re-fit in Superior, WI over the winter of 1964/65. The boat would re-emerge as the Viking. One of the major modifications was to repower the boat with four 16 cylinder EMD 567 diesels. Here we see the crews about to lift one of the engines from the flatcar it was delivered on into the engine bay of the carferry. John Ingles Kodachrome from my collection.
