Due to construction work in Italy, all international freight from/to Gallarate was rerouted over the L?tschberg route instead of the Gotthard route. For the climb on the steeper ramps, SBB Cargo International needed more locos. This was the last time in Swiss railway history old rolling stock was used to composite the shortage of new locos in international freight service. Around four Re 10 (Re 4/4 II + Re 6/6) used to pull trains through Switzerland in May 2021. On this day, I captured the two red locos Re 620 017-4 and Re 420 332-9. According to rumours, SBB Cargo International won't rent old rolling stock again in the future, sadly.
