ALCO Safari Day 2: Elusive Creatures Second stop on my ALCO Safari trip was the Mosaic potash terminal in Rosemount, they roster an ALCO S-2 and lease a rebuilt RS-3. On a whim I made a stop at the Mosaic (formerly CFI) facility, not only is this operation sporadic, but photography is generally frowned upon. With a blessing from the main office and staying outside the fence, ALCO RS-20 #305 is viewed with their S-2, as the engineer gives it a bit of throttle. Mosaic leases this locomotive from the Gopher State Railroad Museum, and is former Green Bay and Western 305, one of just two of their RS-20 rebuilds to survive.
