| Cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 3/4 # 9 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) is pulling train 157 from Realp to Oberwald on the 11.8 % grade down from Muttbach-Belvédère to Gletsch through the alpin roses. The locomotive was built by the SLM Winterthur in 1914 for the Brig-Furka-Disentis railway (BFD), which was followed by the Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO). Sold in 1947 to Vietnam and brought back to Switzerland in 1990. Operational again for the DFB since 1993 (then in blue color and numbered # 2) and after a large revision again in black and with B.F.D.-lettering since 2013. |
