Colorado’s Joint Line between South Denver and Bragdon (Pueblo) is two parallel lines, one built and owned by Rio Grande, and the other built and owned by Santa Fe. Colorado & Southern, later Burlington Northern, also operated on the route. Simply put, the agreement is that Rio Grande route is used for southbound trains of all three railroads, and the Santa Fe route is used for northbound trains of all three railroads.
