| "Shore Line East Electric Test Train at Branford"
On the morning of August 12th, 2021, a ConnDOT Shore Line East Test Train consisting of Kawasaki M8 railcars heads west past the Branford train station on Amtrak's "New Haven to Boston" section of the Northeast Corridor. The purpose of this night's train was to test new Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES) modifications which will allow the M8s to run seamlessly on both Amtrak and Metro-North territory. This test marks another step towards M8s running in revenue service on Shore Line East trains.
