ALCO Safari Day 4, WNYP: On my way to Lakeville, I decided to swing by Olean with the hopes that maybe a WNYP job was still working in the yard. Unfortunately, there was nothing moving in the yard. Not all was lost though, I spied through the trees and bushes, next to the shop, WNYP 406, a former Delaware & Hudson RS-3 rebuild, possibly the only one remaining.
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
