For the first time in over half a decade, an Illinois Central "deathstar" SD70 lead an eastbound train on the CN Iowa Division. After coming in on a grain train the previous night, the power was flipped back east on the daily Waterloo - Kirk Yard manifest. Engineer Ryan Christensen, originally an IC hire, was given this engine to lead his train on his birthday. Here the train is seen rounding the curve east of Dyersville along Olde Hawkeye Road. Lots of railfans were out that day for this rare opportunity to photograph this engine along it's old stomping grounds. This location is not far from the "Field of Dreams" movie site, where the following day, an MLB game would be played for the first ever time in Iowa.
