| An Eastbound Union Pacific manifest freight is seen pulling up the steep grade Donner Pass through the snowsheds at Norden. This is a legendary location on the former Southern Pacific. The searchlight signals still stand, but their replacements are nearby waiting to be installed. The train stopped here to wait for the Westbound California Zephyr before entering the “Big Hole” and creating Donner Summit. |
