        Remarks & Notes
Two of Manitou & Pikes Peak Railway’s new cog diesel-electric locomotives and trainsets are on top the summit of 14,115-foot Pikes Peak on the clear day of August 25, 2021. Built by Stadler Rail of Switzerland, each trainset consists of a locomotive and three passenger cars, with the last car additionally equipped as a cab control car. In this view, Stadler Rail Hm 4/4 No. 27 departs the summit, while sister locomotive No. 28 and train sits on the right. The M&PPR reopened in May 2021, after being shut down for nearly four years—during which time the railway was totally reconstructed, older cars were rebuilt and new equipment was built and delivered.
