Metra train 1249 arrives at the Harlem Avenue station at 4:58 pm (17:58) on a winter’s day. This train is heading from downtown Chicago to Fairview Avenue as part of the evening commuter rush out of the city. METX F40PH 117 Village of Palos Park is having an easy time keeping on schedule, as the BNSF Chicago Division’s triple-track mainline allows the commuter trains to avoid the freight trains, which tend to be on the center mainline.
