          Remarks & Notes
It is now about 5 years, since the operation through the 57 kilometer long Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) began and most of the traffic was rerouted from the mountain line. In june 2016, there was "business as usual" over the loops at Wassen. A nightly view in the upper Reuss valley in the blue hour at 10.18 PM, in a multiple long time exposure. In the foreground the village of Wassen, junction to the Susten pass, in the background the lights of G?schenen and the Sch?llenen gorge. The broad light traces in the valley are from vehicles on the Gotthard highway A2. On the right, on the mountainside, we can see the light traces of the northbound Interregio 2442, far away near G?schenen, in the Eggwald part (clearly visible the two red signals of Eggwald track change station) and between the upper Entschigtal avalanche protector and the former linesman house number 23fs on the far right. In the middle, the light traces on the middle level of the loops, between Middle Meienreuss bridge and the lower Entschigtal avalanche protector. On the left the baroque church of Wassen, built from 1734 to 1742, on a hill. When travelling over the Gotthard line, you can see this church from three different levels.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
