| The steam rotary snow blower R #12 is clearing the tracks between Realp and Tiefenbach on the "Dampf Furka Bahn". It is pushed by cogwheel steam locomotive HG 3/4 #4 from 1913.
This snow blower Xrot d #9212 was originally built in 1913 by SLM Winterthur for the Rhaetian Railway and taken out of service by the RhB in 1968. Over the past 18 years, this marvel of Swiss engineering has been completely overhauled and rebuilt by Martin Horath and his team. What an impressive achievement! |
