Remarks & Notes

CP 286 sports a nice leader in the form of a Union Pacific SD40N. As the engineer cranks it into run 8, the train is seen heading east under the Milwaukee Road searchlights in Rondout, Illinois. In the background is Rondout Tower, which is no longer manned. It is, however, still used by Metra for maintenance of way.
