    A push-pull set of DB Regio bi-level cars with a BR 146.2 rolls downhill the Geislinger Steige just north of Amstetten. This "Interregio Express" (IRE) service connected Ulm on the Bavarian border with the province capital Stuttgart once every hour, using the electrified double track mainline (Filstalbahn, route number 750). The rampof the Geislinger Steige is 3.5 miles long and climbs a height of 367 ft at an incline of 2.25%.
