Brand new diesel "Flirt UK" trains from StadlerRail for Transport for Wales/UK, for the Wales and Borders franchise, operated by KeolisAmey. DMU Class 231 # 006 and # 005 are pulled by Re 620 # 087 of the SBB (not visible) from Erlen via Winterthur-Kloten-Regensdorf-B?zberg to Basel Bad Bf, between Oberwinterthur and Winterthur. 11 of this 4 car trains with a diesel power unit (powerpack) in the middle were ordered in february 2019. They are 80,7 meter long, have 1500 kW and 140 km/h maximum velocity. The drive is provided by the two bogies at the tip and tail, not where the 4 diesel engines (1920 kW in total) are placed ("powerpack"). The multiple units are to operate between Maesteg and Cheltenham Spa, and between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale.
