After dropping its train of 24 privately-owned passenger cars at the station in San Diego, the power for the AARPCO Convention excursion train moved north to the wye at CP Cumbres, at the summit of Miramar Hill, to back onto the spur there and refill the water tank in Santa Fe 4-8-4 3751’s tender. The Northern, teamed with Amtrak P42DCs 63, 87 and 99, will head back to the station later this afternoon to pick up the cars again for the northbound run returning to San Pedro.
