A former Santa Fe unit rescues what was once the Super Chief as the train hauls past the now defunct blades near Robinson, NM. The intermediate's fate was expedited after a week of signal problems caused false red indications, significantly delaying both Southwest Chiefs through the area. BNSF was quick to respond with new signals and the blades were brought down only a month after this photo was taken.
