Milepost 480: Bubbling Rock. With the sun finally breaking through the early morning overcast, we catch a nicely lit view of the former D&RGW K-37 #493 charging north past Milepost 480 at a location that the Durango & Silverton folks call "Bubbling Rock". The above the rock formation behind the train is a large freshwater spring, which results in a slow, steady flow of water down it's front face. This location is not quite halfway between the Cascade Wye and Needleton Siding.
