Electric locomotive Da #888 of the Swedish State Railways SJ (Statens J?rnv?gar) is pulling a special "lunch train" between Abisko ?stra and Kiruna. In the background, Lake Tornetr?sk, the sixth largest lake in Sweden with a total area of 330 square kilometers or 130 square miles.
On the occasion of the 120-year anniversary of the iron ore line "Malmbanan", the Swedish railway museum together with LKAB iron ore mining company ran several historical trains between June 30 and July 4 2022.
This electric locomotive was built by ASEA and delivered to Kiruna in July 1955. It has a power output of 1,840 kW (2,470 hp). It now belongs to the Swedish railway museum in G?vle.
