| Electric trainset ABe 6/6 #34 "Piemonte" of the SSIF (Società subalpina di imprese ferroviarie) is running uphill near Trontano on the Centovalli Railroad between Domodossola in Italy and Locarno in Switzerland. The Ossola Valley can be seen in the background.
This electric railcar was built as Number #11 in 1968 for the FLP Ferrovia Lugano-Ponte Tresa and sold in 1978 to the SSIF. It was manufactured by Schindler Waggon in Switzerland and the electric part was made by TIBB Tecnomasio Italiano Brown Boveri. |
