Former Southern Pacific GP60 #9752 found itself a long, long way from home in this 2004 photograph I made in Catawba, South Carolina. She was being used by CSX at the former Bowater plant in York County. Built for the SP in 1991, she wore the same number for years after the merger with Union Pacific. Uncle Pete eventually renumbered her to UP #1051 and gave an armour yellow dress. Judging from photographs online, she was not painted into UP colors until around 2020.
