| Coal loads exit the twin tunnels at Thistle, catching the soft glow at dusk along the realigned right-of-way, rebuilt after a massive landslide blocked the canyon and wiped out the original D&RGW route. The Spanish Fork River lies below with the former roadbed and highway to its right and left respectively, the area now a picturesque campground with a great view of the tracks. The highway realignment can also be seen traversing the huge cut in the upper left of the frame. |
