    Remarks & Notes
Seeing double. Yes indeed, there are two, big, Baldwin 2-6-6-2T, articulated, compound mallet locomotives steaming in the yard at Hill City, SD this morning. The duty engine for the first two regular trains will be Locomotive #108, seen in the foreground. Behind her, Locomotive #110 is hot from the previous day, but has yet to be fired up. Before heading off to pick up her train, #108 will shortly back up and couple on to the 110, to move her to the pit track, where her fire will be re-ignited and her pressure brought up to full operating level. Later today, both the 108 and the 110 will join forces to pull a double-headed passenger train to celebrate the 65th birthday of the Black Hills Central Railroad.
