| NS has a week left in Fuquay-Varina, NC as December 16th marks the final day of operations before the Raleigh & Fayetteville Railroad takes over. The daytime job (P41) relieved the night job (P46) at Raleigh this morning and took a train down. Evidently they had no cars to bring back, as the only equipment in town was their power. These two GEs will run to Raleigh and Durham tonight on the P46. A pair of RJ Corman GP38s and a B39-8 will be the power for the new operation, a big contrast from the NS road power that's been the norm for a while. |
