At 6.48 AM the snow fighting crew of Poschiavo reaches Alp Grüm on 2091 meter a.s.l. The dual power locomotive (diesel and 1000 V DC from the overhead wire on the Bernina line) Gem 4/4 # 801, built in 1966 and modernised in 2000, is shoving the "beast", snow blower Xrot mt # 95404, built by Zaugg in 2011. The Gem 4/4 is operating in diesel mode, which is usual in the snow fighting service.
