Having crossed Steptoe Creek the daily northbound passenger train is climbing toward Hi Line Junction. I always thought 81 was the best looking engine on the roster so after it was restored we decided to make the pilgrimage. The single lung smokebox mounted air pumps were a surprise as was their almost constant pumping but she looks and sounds great with these beautiful period cars.
