One half of the fleet for the then still-new Aiken Railway sits at the small office for the railroad in it's namesake town in 2013.
This locomotive was buit as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe (ATSF) 1275 in 1973 and later renumbered to ATSF 3275 and finally ATSF 2775 when she was rebuilt to GP30U specifications. When the Santa Fe and Burlington Northern merged in the 1990s, she became BNSF 2473. BNSF sold her to Larry's Truck & Electric who then sold her to Western Carolina who owns both the Aiken and Greenville & Western. |
