A cold December evening finds a pair of Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern Alco's working the railroad's yard in Utica, New York as they pull a cut of empty LSRC pole cars towards the west yard lead. As evidenced by their paint schemes, both units spent time on BC Rail before coming to Genesee Valley Transportation. Trailing unit MHWA 2455 has just come out of the paint shop wearing a fresh coat of BC Rail two-tone green in tribute to its heritage.
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
