Remarks & Notes

For the last ten miles, since Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe GP30 3250 (ex-ATSF 1250) and four GP35s departed San Bernardino, this train has been steadily climbing the ATSF First District's 2.2% grade toward Cajon Pass. Devore is considered the lower entrance to Cajon, and this freight will crest Cajon's summit in another 15 grueling miles. (Devore, California – October 18, 1980)
