Amtrak's long distance train from Miami, FL: "The Silver Star", continues its trek north to New York City, captured here at sunset in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, PA. The "Sunshine State" is well over 700 miles away (Jacksonville, FL) though the full length of the trip is 1521 miles when you factor in Silver Star's jaunt west to grab passengers in Tampa.
The reason railpictures.net has captured my imagination for so many years. Images of quality and distinction, in other words, amazing railroad photography.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
