| Re 420 # 194 and # 196 (Re 4/4 II # 11194 and # 11196) of the SBB in multiple control are pulling the train 13009 "VENICE SIMPLON-ORIENT-EXPRESS (VSOE) of the Belmond company from (Paris-) Basel-Gotthard mountain line-Chiasso (-Venice) over the Stalvedro viaduct between Airolo and Ambri-Piotta. The train had 16 cars, a length of about 400 meter and a weight of around 1000 ton. Most of the cars are former CIWL cars type Lx built around 1930, fitted with new bogies and air conditioning. There are three dining cars too and a lounge car. First car is a modern car Ytb for the staff. The Stalvedro viaduct is 83 meter long and built in concrete with stone cladding. |
