| Only just an hour into the northbound Coast Starlight’s journey, disaster has struck. A large truck was fouling the single main around 11:15 AM Wednesday morning when Amtrak #14 came through at track speed. The force of the impact caused at least two coach cars to hit the ground. A total of 15 people were transported to area hospitals, with 168 total passengers aboard, including 13 Amtrak crew members. |
