The gravel season in Anchorage usually starts by the 1st of May, but due to late snowfall the season didn't kick off in 2023 until halfway through the month.
But on May 15th, coincidentally the last day of my Alaska trip, ARR 4016 leads the first loaded QAP gravel train into downtown Anchorage, where it will be unloaded just a few miles to the south.
