EMD built the unit in September 1954 as Northern Pacific 7003-D. At the merger that created the Burlington Norther it became Burlington Northern 814. After its retirement BN donated the non-operating diesel to the Central Oklahoma Railfan Club (CORC) in 1982. I witnessed it being trucked to the Kirkpatrick Center in Oklahoma City to be displayed on an outside track. At a later date the center changed its direction somewhat and asked that the loco be removed. It was trucked to the old Missouri-Kansas-Texas track between NE 16th Street and NE 36th Street in Oklahoma City. This location is now the site of the railway museum. CORC volunteers worked hard to get the unit running. After the CORC became the ORM volunteers painted the unit into St. Louis-San Francisco Railway livery.
