C317 thunders out of Tunnel 1 with coal loads for South Carolina. This tunnel has seen a lot of change since it replaced a single-track portal in 1951, including the removal of the second track. Today, there are no passenger trains or trailer jets, and the Parkersburg Sub is gone, but the trains keep rolling.
