| Idling away at Amtrak's Redondo Junction’s coach yard is Dash 8-32BWH 509. Built by General Electric as road power for Amtrak in December 1991, these hood diesels wore one of the most spectacular paint schemes Amtrak (or was it GE?) ever devised – the "Pepsi Can" scheme. An homage to that scheme can be found on P42DC 160 these days. (Los Angeles, California – August 16, 2023) |
