| Earlier this year word spread that the Rousselot Plant in. Peabody, MA would be closing by the end of 2023. The gelatin plant located on the South Reading Industrial Track is the last freight customer on the North Shore, and the last freight customer East of Everett on the former Boston & Maine Eastern Route. The Boston-based BO-1 crew brought a single tank car of hydrochloric acid this morning, the last loaded car for the facility. One more move will occur when the crew retrieves this empty car and freight will no longer be seen. The train is seen crossing over the Saugus River from Revere into Lynn at Saugus Draw. |
