OKLAHOMA CITY (April) 1977 — Rock Island GP38-2 4300 and an all blue lashup lead a mixed freight westbound at Harter Yard. EMD delivered the 4300, named the Rock Islander, in August-September 1976. According to Railway Preservation news, “Rock GP38-2s 4300-4351 went to MP then UP via UP/MP merger. They were MP 2238-2289 then UP 2238-2289 then re#738-789.” My photo.
