The biggest customer for EMD’s SD75I is by far the Canadian National with 175 SD75Is, while BNSF added 26 to its fleet, and Ontario Northland acquired six. BNSF SD75Is that were delivered in 1997 were dressed in Santa Fe’s famous red and silver Warbonnet colors and numbered 8276 to 8301. These units were eventually renumbered down into the 200’s following Santa Fe/BNSF SD75M Nos. 200 to 275. Repainted in a current BNSF color scheme, SD75I No. 282 basks in the morning sun just south of Bill, Wyoming, on July 5, 2019.
