A pair of WNYP Alco's are pulling a special move of an Amtrak Avelia trainset from Alstom's Hornell Plant bound for storage in Olean as they roll past some early fall colors in Alfred, New York. The train has completed its climb up the grade to Tip Top Summit and is now following the valley of Railroad Brook towards Andover.
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
