| Diesel powered double railcar Bm 4/8 # 203 A/B, built by StadlerRail for the chinese Huawei company, is crossing the Rhine on the 254 meter long and 25 mter high bridge between Etzwilen and Hemishofen. This former SBB line from Etzwilen to Singen am Hohentwiel/Germany, opened in 1875 by the Schweizerische Nationalbahn, was never electrified. Passenger service ended in 1969 and the line was closed in 2004. Now owned by foundations Museumsbahn Stein am Rhein – Etzwilen – Hemishofen – Ramsen & Rielasingen – Singen (SEHR & RS) and operated by the VES (Verein zur Erhaltung der Eisenbahnlinie Etzwilen-Singen). The red railcar makes test runs between Hemishofen and Ramsen in the next weeks. |
