Clawing under storm’s edge
We were on Peru Hill west of Green River, Wyoming, on the afternoon of June 22, 2023, when the nice weather began to change as thunderstorms moved in from the west. Before we knew it, a giant shelf cloud from one of the storms quickly enveloped the sky above, bring with it wind, blowing dust and driving rain. Moving off the cut seemed prudent and provided this view of another Union Pacific freight clawing up the grade away from the Green River.
