            Remarks & Notes
CANYON TX July 6 1986 — ATSF C30-7 8025 is in charge of a TOFC train on the Transcon. GE built the unit (s/n 41692) in March 1978 with an air conditioning unit mounted in the nose, 74:18 gear ratio and painted blue body with yellow warbonnet livery. In 1985 it was re-geared to 83:20. After Santa Fe Fe retired the unit it was leased to General Electric before December 1989. My photo.

Aside from Warbonnets and Chiefs, Santa Fe was a workaday railroad like any other. This album showcases that less glamorous--but no less vital--side of the famous ATSF.

            Railroading in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, basically anything but the 2000s.
