| The Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway is the highest crossing of the Alps by a railroad and is largely an open line. The highest station is Ospizio Bernina at 2253 meters above sea level. Diesel snow blower Xrot mt # 95404 shoved by "Schalke" diesellocomotive Gmf 234 # 01 is leaving Ospizio Bernina for snow clearing towards Alp Grüm. This was an extraordinary effort by the crew from Pontresina in the afternoon, after the crew from Poschiavo had already cleared the route once in the early morning. |
