Amtrak train 475, a Springfield MA to New Haven CT Hartford Line train, is about to depart Springfield's Union Station. Amtrak "control coach" 9641 (ex-AMTK Metroliner Coach 805, originally Penn Central 805) will lead this train, which also includes coach 82777 and is powered by P42DC 112 on the rear. With double tracking, CT Rail, a new regional service, and restoration of Springfield Union Station, the Connecticut Valley line has become once more an exciting place for train watching.
Once treated like a backwater with decrepit locomotives, cars and track, Massachusetts has become a star in the Amtrak constellation with electrification to Boston, service to Maine and an upgraded Connecticut Valley line.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
