On Wednesday May 22, 2024 “Big Boy” Union Pacific #4014 ran for the first time by itself on the main line west from Cheyenne after the installation of (PTC) Positive Train Control system. A day filled with a memorable and beautiful series of classic Overland Route scenes. Joe Macmillan and Ed Dickens make a friendly wave on this memorable occasion heading on the mainline on Track 3 the Harriman Cutoff. |
