On its first day back in revenue service, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) PCC III no. 2326 is seen arriving at the Girard Ave and Palmer St stop running a Route 15 service to the Richmond & Westmoreland Loop. Trolleys had not run in revenue service on Route 15 for four years prior to this, after extensive mechanical issues were discovered in the PCC fleet. The 18 PCC II cars have been undergoing a frame-up restoration for the past four years, though only 8 of the fleet are currently serviceable. This means trolley only service on Route 15 is still a ways away, with buses still running the line alongside the trolleys. |
