| Eastbound NJT 716 arrives at Far Hills, meeting westbound NJT 713 at the Controlled Passing Siding. For decades, the weekend schedule was such that trains would be scheduled to meet at Gladstone and pass each other via hand-thrown switches. After a derailment involving an extra crew occurred at Gladstone, NJ Transit opted to have trains meet at the Far Hills Controlled Siding. This shift in practice created a close to 15 minute lull for the westbound. |
